Many times we try to find a balance in life,

But how much is enough and how much is balanced?

Another chapter of my life has unfold..

In the quest of searching the right balance of fulfilling passion and needs,

Many times, we find ourselves consumed by things we thought are meaningful,

But yet the meaning has been clouded by perceptions we perceived as important to us,

And so, I have embarked on a new journey, after years of searching,

I have found an answer..

Passion is inside us...not valued by how much we earn, not valued by how much recognition we gained..

Passion is me..

One thing for sure is..this blog is going to be re-activated :)

if i have all the money in the world,
the first thing i would do is to do nothing,
i would mould the best millefiore cane , again and again, to form the perfect symmetric patterns,
then i would buy you a PSP , which you have wanted for so long,
i would sit in front of my macbook and draft that perfect letter,
instead of this poem of "what ifs",
and then present it to you for all you care, i have nothing to lose,
if i have all the money in the world,
i would build them a castle, and which the grumbles will end, and his sufferings will end,
then i would buy us a one way ticket to the other side of the world,
we shall attend daily art exhibitions, and be inspired everyday,
i will then detour to germany and visit my best friend whom i might have forgotten her face,
her smiles , her laughters, and play childhood games,
second stop is australia with the perfect couple, see kangaroos and not to forget to taste space cake,
back in amsterdam,
we shall fly to paris and hand in hand we take a perfect picture with the eiffel tower,
but with all the traveling, i still miss Penang,
so let's fly back to the Orient, and take all my time in the world to do nothing again,
i will paint the perfect still life, of the heritage Penang once again,
and watch you create another history with a legendary toy,
we shall hold our monthly exhibitions, and build our dreams,
hand in hand, if only i have all the money in the world,
we shall be the wanderer, artist of the world,
you can win all my angpow money for all i care,
as i have all the money in the world to do all i want!!

Been long long time since my last blog :)

Another significant milestone, is one of my very close friend is getting married!! huhu.. Yes ya'll! Big big congrates to JoAnn with the BIG A :)

Hope you have a wonderful wonderful many happy years ahead with you husband :) Well the wedding's on Jan 11 09 . Its gonna be a blast!!

Rumours were circulating like crazy , sms'es saying the inevitable, soon, petrol stations were empty, anticipating that the day that petrol prices were speculated to go down.

It was. Saturday. August 23rd. 2008. Morning. 9am.

No, the day petrol prices went down 15 cents weren't one of the milestone of my life.

This is the day I was tempted to taste the artificial world.
I failed. Kicked out the first round. Heh. Must be my loud voice.

Yea, the SECOND kicked out of my life, after medicine.

The SIA kicked out. WOOT! Life is wonderful! :)

Little Miss Sunshine :)

I cried, I laughed, I cried till i laughed, I laughed till tears rolled down my eyes.

Amazingly, I watched this movie 2 times, in a day. This is Little Miss Sunshine, my friend.

This movie is so amazingly wonderful that i just has to persuade somebody to watch it.

A movie so simple, no exciting plot, no expensive budget, this is all it takes to bring our feet back on the grounds.

It's a story about an exaggerated dysfunctional family (which i feel portrays how all family is not perfect) who in spite of all disagreements from the point of arguing over financial matters during the times of bankruptcy , to the coke snorting grandpa who teaches the grandson to F*** as many girls as he wants, still will come together and rise against all quirky series of events.

It also teaches us to break free from the artificiality of the world and accept all flaws in every wonderful person and that there are more to life than Beauty pageants..:)

Most importantly, it will make u cry, and make u laugh at the same time, which will crosses out that one thing to do in your "Bucket List"- another movie ,which i shall blog about too soon..*grins* till then.. have a great week ahead my friend.

when you thought u have lived so much of life,

tasted the best of both worlds,

you start to wonder what is left in that vast unventured territory.

the curious mind ponders of the what ifs once again.

it's restless, to the mind as much as pushing the limits of your faith.

no point reminiscing the past, of the naivety you once hold,

as they are tainted, as much as we want to deny,

they are polluted by your experiences, your choices, and most of all your mistakes,

are all coming back in torrents, waving back at you like your identical twin,

familiar yet so distant.

you think that being cynical is fun, but it's tormenting really,

to say not what the heart feels, but of what the worlds wants to hear.

Seriously, i bet everyone longs for simplicity and yet life holds nothing but.

Love is pure when it stands alone, but when all your life you are searching ,

and yearning for that moment of truth, you have loved and get nothing in return.

And so, you start to give and demand to get in return,

more and more you start to ask until it torments everyone around you,

and it eats you from within, you trust not even yourself.

I guess it will be tough for everyone, including myself,

in this life-long search for that identity when the coin has two sides,

when there is heaven and hell, when everything your life has brought you to believe,

could be the opposite of how it seemed.

scary? well there is no wrong or right, if that's any consolation.

only your identity for you to hold on to, which in the end, i can call it mine.

it has been sometime since my last entry.

life has been a roller-coaster ride, each moment passing by unknowingly.

unknowingly to the mind, but nonetheless physically draining.

when the mind is idle, it keeps swirling like it's a dream.

i sleep to keep myself sane, and sometimes are thankful when work overwhelms me.

He says it's all in me. Undoubtedly i guess he is right.

Poisoned by the roots of evil . Blurring the lines of black and white.

So they say, a writer needs drama, i wonder how far it's true.

I never write, anymore when it's all good.

Perhaps deep inside i yearn for this, when things are smooth-sailing,

there's nothing worthy of writing.

Perhaps i created all these, fabricating all these dark moments.

So that i could write, from within my bones.

Between two extremes, i could write a book if i wish.

But i guess you could see, from the fragments of my writings,

my mind is scattered, decomposed, without a storyline.

my attention span lasts no longer than 5 sentence and it scatters away.

It's been a long time since i felt proud of myself,

I had a dream this afternoon, a scary moment but it felt so real.

To those who knows me, knows im a true devil and angel.

sometimes the other overwhelms the latter, and vice versa.

the transition is scary, to me and to people surrounding me.

the pain is throbbing, to you i know.

to see me sitting on the fence, you don't deserve this,

tormenting your mind, inflicting pain to your fragility.

till i have found my purpose in life, i then will wake up with a smile

and thinking all these makes it all worthwhile.

Thanks to Vivian Toh and Jaylim,for bringing us the Get Mooovin Movable Art 2008.

The event started off by a short brief by Vivian thanking all the supporting designers who gave their support to make the event happen! It was heart warming and i believe it should be the culture to be instilled in our design community. Very often we tend to not realise the importance of gratitude and how a simple thanks will change the lives of others. Woot!

The main character of the event must be the one and only Ms. Hua with Vivian wearing the trademark Cheongsam (too bad i didnt manage to take a picture with her).

An extraordinary performance art which somehow sent me giggling while keeping my eyes glued in awe. Presented by Raymond, the installation is fresh and daring, to bring the focus to a mundane activity - "Passing Motion"!
It expresses passing motion as an art itself, but hey life's all about art anyways!

It's a waste we did not manage to catch Muid Latiff's performance as the rain stopped us from going back from the mamak stall. But hey check out the video!

The Little Penang Market was happening again at the end of January 2008 in conjunction with the Chinese New Year Celebration . But in spite of all the hype and the heat, the crowd was dwindling throughout the day with the same faces seen circling round our booth over and over again. Some of the highlights of this month's Penang Market was the Dragon Dance and story telling by Himanshu Bhatt who manages to draw the crowd with his compelling and engaging story of Penang hundreds of thousands of years ago.

When a story revolves around Penang, theres just so much to talk about, regardless of its heritage trails which leaves much controversial debate, or the Penang Food which has long established its well deserved fame. And so, that's how it came to the conversation between us and some organizers of the LPSM about the Penang art scene in comparison to KL arts scene ::

LPSM member1 : So how's sales today? (making doubtful faces.)

Green : It's ok, not too bad..

Flo3tic : yea, it was ok, but last week when we were in KL, the crowd were awesome..:(smiles)

LPSM member2 : hey i'll get this keychain to make up to your sales! (saying while handing a note of 10bucks)

LPSM member1 : Of course le, don;t compare to KL, support Penang! so many people are leaving to KL already, Ade already left, saying she'll come back but till now she is still not back yet! then she also gonna leave soon (referring to LPSM member2)

Green : yea, no, we'll stay in Penang of course.

Flo3tic : we'll stay here and visit KL occasionally!

It takes a lot of courage to live up to your dreams , especially when everyone around you are taking the road most travelled.

As Green keeps saying, to create great things you have to dream and dream BIG.
Eventually it doesn't matter where in the nooks or corners of the world you are at, arts knows no borders and passion knows no boundaries.
As long as you have found your niche , you have communicated your arts and it's all that matters.
And sometimes your art might be bought by some celebrity...
or someone who shares the same taste in fashion..:P

On the 18th-20th January 2008, we took part in the Youth'08 exhibition which was held for 3 consecutive days at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC). We had enormous fun mingling with people who shares the same interest and loves the same Junk! woot!

The creator of Ms Hua (well for those who wonders who is the mysterious Ms. Hua, the secret will be out soon , probably March, so be patient *grins*) visited Penang for the second time, (the last time was 13 years ago, heh, if im not mistaken), for a trip round the historical island.

Enticed by the architectural wonders of Penang

the window awaits, years bygone, for the hand to embrace the lost..

the cold heart melts, sorrowful frowns turns to laughters,

the opera sings again, and the soul danced merrily hand in hand.

As a new chapter unfolds,

hands clasp in strong grip hoping that things will change,

that wounds will heal again,

and hearts will love again,

while the birds sing the melody of hope to soothe all pains.

It was a real christmas treat with christmas tree and roast duck (which was suppose to be a turkey) :P and presents and cakes , an evening of joy and laughters especially with Noah around . We knew it would be a pre- farewell for Ari and Nicol, as they are leaving to Bangkok soon,( well by the time i'm writing this, they are gone already). Perhaps destiny has brought us together, bonding all of us in this joyous moment , for a real merry christmas.

Gosh, it has been long since the last post! Life just slips by like a blink of an eye. Let's count down what we have been up to until the New Year of 2008!

On 16th December was the Figure 8ight [music+fashion mash-up] event organised by Junk magazine and Nokia Independent Artist Club happening at the Annexe, Central Market , Kuala Lumpur.

We went for a quick trip down the Metropolitan city and embrace the scene. Some of the stalls werePopMalaya/Evol, Poprina, Kurasaraksasa, Urban-Cr3atureswhich is us of course, i Heart KL, Flowerdrums Bags,Wondermilk, Defy and many more not to forget some really cool music such as One Buck Short, Qings&Kueens, KLPHQ, and etc.

PIPIT 1st INDEPENDENT ARTIST & DESIGNER EVENT 2007
One of September's highlights were the Pipit's 1st Anniversary happening at The Annexe, Central Market ,KL.
Pipit ,comprises of Mike and Ivery, a two-man show who has published the second designers magazine is definately THE BEST independent upcoming duo artists of the year man!

The event garnered massive crowd, which did not dwindle until the very end of the show.

The show kicked off in the Little Penang Street Market at about 9am and crowds are as usual, eclectic mix of the young and old. Essence will be the pioneer of many more exhibitions to come in the Market as a movement to encourage and cultivate the love of arts in Penang.

::Essence:: A Digital Revival Of The Orient

Essence is a showcase of arts from 5 artists from Penang, KL, and France whose works translates into the love for Penang food, culture and the people which encompasses the core of The Pearl of The Orient.

It expresses the amazement, the appreciation, and above all the love for the island. The show will be exhibited in a digital print poster to show the modernization of the young people and at the same time planting the seeds of love on the tradition and culture of Penang.

The artists comprises of Urban-Cr3atures(Penang), Flo3tic(Penang), JayLim Design(KL), Decoy(Penang) and Nemostudio(France). Each of the artist will submit about 5 posters to be exhibited on the 26th August Little Penang Street Market. Each of the artwork expresses individual conveyance of the Penang culture which is seen through different perspectives.

Essence is basically a digital revamp of what the youths today perceives the Penang culture which moulds the generation today. It shows that even in the digitalized era, the tradition does not fade, but evolves and educate in a good way.

It has been a year since the first launch of the Little Penang Street Market. Seeing over 100 booths this month, the celebration was great, the weather was cool even though it's the raining season,and the sky was clear the whole day!

really tempting mini cakes which got me into buying 6pcs for 5 bucks, looked really too good to be eaten, and they tasted urm, below expectations..:P

Penang Happenings!

Eight months ago,we took up a booth in the Little Penang Street Market which is one of the exciting arts and cultural event in Penang.
Happening every last sunday of the month, and everytime there were around 70 booths set up. Cultural arts were the norm, and occasionally there are some designers like us who leaped into action, selling our very own made-in-Malaysia, local designers' brand t-shirts, magazine, plush toys and accessories!
It's a great place to be at if you're a tourist in Penang and want to have a taste of Penang culture densely centred in one place at one time!Or, you're from the generation where names such as 'rempenyek' or 'clog' sounds like aliens in some sci-fi movies, you're in for an eye-opening treat!

Basically it is aimed to preserve our dying culture such as the batik, gasing, joss- stick making, and a chance for everyone to sample our local delicacies like 'lemang' or the infamous 'nutmeg' which normally are hard to find.
Coming this 29th July 2007, marks the 1 year anniversary of Little Penang Street Market.It's more than a celebration , its signifies that Penang culture is more alive than ever!Come and eat, come and be inspired, most importantly drop by our stall 'urban-cr3atures' to get your hands on our limited edition 'GREEN CREATURES' designer's toy and also Floetic jewellery!!

these fingers longed to tap on the keyboard,longing for her muse
her mind is empty, as the heart turns cold,
sipping the cup of coffee,playing songs as bitter as coal,
when the telephone rings, she trottled down like a stupid donkey,
a stubborn mule, abiding to the ridiculous rules!

We aren't your puppet, mind you!
perhaps, i;m just too sensitive, but isn;t that what a poet should?
it all comes to an end now, i;m sorry for my time is up,
when the world is cold, i might as well follow suit,
we're all just the wild dogs, none any wiser, or even with a soul.

given a week or two, we might be strangers again, nodding on streets,
just another familiar mask, among the pool of deceits,
slaved and bowed to the root of evil, this i've had enough of it!
where art thou humanity? left us all searching in vain,
perhaps an euphoria will remain unattain once again?
